Meghan Doyle is the Head Trainer and Part-Owner of Performance Plus K9 Activity Center, where she has been a dedicated member of the team since 2014. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of roles—including administration, animal care, and training—but her true passion has always been dog training.
Meghan’s journey began with her first Golden Retriever, Jack, who introduced her to the world of competitive dog sports. Though they started in Nose Work and Competition Obedience, Meghan quickly recognized Jack had severe anxiety and sensitivities to certain environments. Through patient, thoughtful training focused on emotional safety, confidence-building games, and slow exposure to new challenges, she helped Jack gain the resilience he needed to succeed. Over time, he earned titles in competitive obedience, scent work, and trick training – and even competed successfully at the Golden Retriever National Specialty in 2024 (at 10 years old!), all while being handled by a novice trainer, which once seemed impossible given Jack’s former discomfort with new people. More importantly, their journey laid the foundation for a deep, trusting bond that continues to shape Meghan’s training philosophy today.
Now retired, Jack enjoys a quieter life while Meghan actively trains and competes in Nose Work, Obedience, Agility, and Dock Diving with her younger pack of 5 dogs —her beloved Wicked Good Retrievers!
Meghan is especially passionate about helping people understand their dogs, build trust, and unlock their full potential – whether they’re looking for a well-mannered companion or a competitive teammate.
