Meghan has been with Performance Plus K9 Activity Center since April 2014 working in administrative, animal care and training roles. Her first love is training. Jack, her Golden Retriever, is in training for the sports of Nose Work and Competition Obedience. He currently boasts CGC, NW2, and TKP titles. These titles were quite a feat because Jack is environmentally sensitive. Meghan’s loving patience and perseverance prevailed which resulted in the titles, but most importantly, in forging a deep, trusting bond between her and Jack.
Joining Performance Plus K9 Activity Center and seeing the relationship Nancy Droukas and her dogs have is what started Meghan’s love for competition obedience and her pursuit of a career in dog training. She has apprenticed under Nancy Droukas in all levels of basic pet manners, as well as nose work and has excelled as both a student and instructor.
Meghan’s innate ability to understand canine behavior and her desire to advance her knowledge of the science aligns with PPK9’s philosophy and approach to training. In 2017, she was promoted to instructor for all levels of pet obedience and nose work. Meghan enjoys helping people build relationships that bring out the best in their dog so they can go on to do fun, rewarding activities together. In 2019, Meghan was promoted to Head Trainer and K9 Training Manager.
